Maryborough State High School formal set to be held this month
As Maryborough State High School gets ready to hold its formal, we look back at the glitz and glamour from St James Lutheran College and Hervey Bay State School’s big nights.

The third formal of the Fraser Coast school year is set to be held next week after other students in their final year have already graced the red carpet.
It comes after St James Lutheran College and Hervey Bay State High School each held formals at the start of the year.
St James was the first to hold its formal, which went ahead at the Hervey Bay Boat Club in April.

Hervey Bay State High School followed last month, electing to move its formal from November to May.
The event was held at Urangan’s Waterfront Restaurant and even rainy weather couldn’t dampen the spirits of the graduating students.

Maryborough State High School will be the next to host its formal on June 21.
Last year the school held its formal on the school grounds in Kent St.

Hundreds of people gathered to watch the students arrive, dressed to the nines, in classic cars, modern vehicles and even a limousine.
This year, arrivals will be held at the school ahead of a dance before the students are bussed to a reception at Maryborough Services and Citizen’s Memorial Club.
The region’s other schools will hold their formals later in the year:
St Mary’s College: August 16
Xavier Catholic College: August 30
Riverside Christian College: August 30
Fraser Coast Anglican College: September 13
Aldridge State High School: November 12
Urangan State High School: November 15
