Man tells staff at Bay business he will ‘shoot them all’

He told those at the business if they didn’t call him a taxi, he’d “shoot them all”.

Entering a Hervey Bay business and telling the employees there he would “shoot them all” has landed a man before court.

Craig Anthony Hoppe, 49, pleaded guilty to committing a public nuisance and possessing explosives when he appeared before Hervey Bay Magistrates Court last week.

The court heard Hoppe entered Bob’s Tyres on March 19 in Main St, Pialba.

He told those at the business if they didn’t call him a taxi, he’d “shoot them all”.

After leaving the business, Hoppe was later located at Bunnings where police found he was in possession of 12 gauge shotgun shells and a beer.

The court heard Hoppe had four children.

He suffered from anxiety and depression.

Hoppe was sentenced to three months in prison with an immediate parole eligibility date.
