Inspectors called in after Urangan worker injured in serious fall

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland inspectors have visited a Hervey Bay worksite where a man in his 30s was badly hurt in a fall through a skylight this week.

A workplace incident at Urangan that left a man with serious injuries is under investigation.

A man in his 30s suffered serious injuries after falling through a skylight at a workplace in Urangan on Wednesday, July 9.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the incident happened about 12.44pm.

The man was taken by ambulance to Hervey Bay Hospital in a potentially life-threatening condition.

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland was notified of the incident.

“WHSQ inspectors attended the site and will continue to make further inquiries,” a spokeswoman said.

“No further comment can be made at this time.”
