RACQ CareFlight Rescue has flown to Fraser Island to airlift an injured French backpacker after he fractured his leg jumping off a four-wheel drive.
CareFlight flew to Happy Valley yesterday at 8.30am to airlift the 31-year-old man.
After taking photographs from the top of his car the man jumped on to wet sand, mistaking it for a soft landing spot.
He was taken to the Bundaberg Base Hospital in a stable condition.
