Man flown from K'gari after vehicle hits washout causing back injury
Paradise turned perilous as a beach driving mishap on K'gari's pristine sands ends in an emergency airlift for injured tourist.
A man in his 40s has been flown from K’gari after suffering a back injury when the vehicle he was travelling in hit a washout.
The incident happened just fore 2pm on Thursday, with a Lifeflight helicopter tasked to the scene at 2.40pm.
Emergency service crews also attended the scene at Cathedrals.
“The critical care LifeFlight doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic worked with local QAS paramedics to treat the patient for suspected back injuries,” a Lifeflight media release said.
The man was transported in a stable condition to Hervey Bay Hospital.
