A MAN was airlifted at dawn on Sunday from Fraser Island after becoming seriously ill.
The north Brisbane man, believed to be in his mid-50s, was staying at Happy Valley on Fraser Island when he began to show signs of a serious medical condition.
The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter transported him to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.
The helicopterhas conducted more than 90 missions since July 1 this year. In the 2014-15 financial year the service conducted 242 rescue missions around the Fraser Coast, Bundaberg and South Burnett.
