A feud escalated into physical violence when a teen spotted a woman she didn’t like outside a bank in Hervey Bay.
Searne Kyarose Tobane, 19, pleaded guilty to one count of common assault when she faced Hervey Bay Magistrates Court.
The court heard she was walking past the Commonwealth Bank when she saw the other woman.
Tobane was on the phone and asked the person on the line “do you want me to hit this s**t?”
She then approached the woman and started arguing before taking a swing at her and missing.
The woman turned to walk away and hit her head on a pole.
Tobane then grabbed her and punched her in the head a number of times, the court was told.
The court she made full admissions regarding the assault to police.
Tobane claimed her actions were retribution for a male friend who had allegedly been assaulted by people known to the woman.
Defence lawyer Michael Riedel said Tobane had been frustrated after the assault on the man she referred to as her brother.
She had no prior criminal history.
Tobane was fined $300 and no conviction was recorded.
