The case against a young man who allegedly shared child sex abuse material via Snapchat has returned to court

A man accused of possessing child exploitation material has had his matter mentioned in Hervey Bay District Court.
Brenton Jon Nathanael Hunter of Kawungan was allegedly linked to child abuse material accessed via Snapchat, Dropbox and other online services, the court heard.
He was not required to appear in court on Monday.
According to the AFP, the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation had received information from the United States’ National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children.
During a subsequent search of Mr Hunter’s Kawungan home in March this year, police say a smart phone was seized.
Mr Hunter was charged with possessing child abuse material obtained using a carriage service and using a carriage service to access and transmit child abuse material.
During the mention, it was indicated an indictment would be presented to the court later this week.
The case was adjourned until Friday.
