THE Fraser Coast Regional Council is expected to hand down its budget for the next financial year in mid-July.
Councillor Rolf Light, who is leading the discussions said councillors were currently formulating the budget.
"We're working very hard to produce a budget that's affordable," he said.
"While maintaining the engine-driver of our economy which is council's local spend."

Truck crashes into traffic lights, blocks road
A set of traffic lights has been knocked over by a truck, blocking vehicles on a Hervey Bay road following an earlier crash in Maryborough where four people were injured.
