AN $8 MILLION airpark development in Yengarie is set to have aviation enthusiasts smiling, with land packages to go up for sale in mid-July.
Project co-ordinator Graeme Williams said the residential airpark, which would have hangars built alongside houses, was believed to be the first "totally green" development of its kind in Australia and possibly the world.
The development will be completely self-contained, with each home equipped with solar power, a self-sufficient sewerage system and NBN-enabled internet.
Mr Williams said the house, hangar and land packages would be available through reputable builders across the Fraser Coast.
Fraser Coast councillor James Hansen said the project had been on the cards for about 10 years since he was on the Woocoo Shire Council and it was great to see it coming to fruition.
He said the project would bring professional people to the area and generate jobs.
