A Bundaberg businessman allegedly caught with cable ties, lubricant, condoms and a male sex aid outside the home of a woman he was accused of stalking has faced Hervey Bay Magistrates Court.
David John Egan, 54, applied for bail when he appeared before the court on Thursday.
He was charged with 20 offences, including multiple trespassing offences and stalking.
The court heard the alleged victim first became alarmed when she saw a bottle top from a Lazy Bear rum outside her home.
She had gone into town to buy padlocks and other items to secure her home, it heard.
While she was out, she saw the defendant at a TAB outlet and worried that he might live close to her home, the court heard.
When she eventually arrived home, Mr Egan was pacing up and down at the gate.
The woman immediately called police, who came and spoke to Mr Egan.
The officers allegedly found lubricant, cable ties, condoms and a male sex aid in his possession.
Mr Egan’s defence lawyer, Leon Casey, said his client intended to plead not guilty to the charges.
The court heard Mr Egan had spent 113 days in custody.
Magistrate Guttridge said Mr Egan was an unacceptable risk of offending.
He was remanded in custody and the matter was adjourned to a later date.
