Gabbi ditches Gold Coast schoolies for event close to home

GABBI Wilcox is excited about her upcoming schoolies experience.

Rather than celebrating with hoards of others on the streets of the Gold Coast, Gabbi has instead decided to take a safer and fun alternative with Scripture Union Queensland.

What is your one piece of advice for school leavers in the wake of the big annual schoolies event?

She will go to the Sunshine Coast, while hundreds of others will head to Scripture Union events in Melbourne, the Whitsundays, Hawaii and Fraser Island.

"I wanted to do something fun instead of going to the Gold Coast," she said.

Activities for schoolies on Fraser Island will include snorkelling, 4WD tours, fresh and salt water lake swimming, paddle boarding, skirmish games and segway riding at Kingfisher Bay Resort and more.
