A MAN has been airlifted from Fraser Island suffering burns after an accident with a camp fire last night.
The AGL Action Rescue Helicopter flew the 20-year-old man to Hervey Bay Hospital, where he was treated for steam burns to his arms and abdomen.
The burns occurred at around 2am this morning when the Jimboomba man attempted to put out a fire at a campsite near Orchid Beach.
QAS paramedics treated the man at the campsite before transporting him to nearby beachfront where the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter had landed.
The helicopter's flight paramedic worked to stabilise the man before he was airlifted by the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter to the Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.
