One of Maryborough’s most popular businesses has undergone a revamp, bringing a taste of Paris to the Heritage City.

French Hot Bread shop owners Teresa and Tommy Pham moved the Adelaide St business next door for about four weeks to continue trading while the renovations were carried out.

Mr Pham said the endeavour was about giving something back to the city that had supported the business by investing in it and making the bakery and cafe an even more beautiful place to visit.

They felt there had been more visitors than ever to their shop since they reopened in their original space, saying they were grateful to everyone who had supported them.

Mr Pham said the renovation was designed to bring a modern French feel to the businesses, which serves delicious pies, breads, sausage rolls, cakes, coffee and more.

Fraser Coast councillor Daniel Sanderson said it was great to see confidence continuing to build in the city and wider region.

“To see investment like this occurring affirms we are heading in the right direction,” he said.

“As a city and region, we are maturing and entering a new level of sophistication and excellence.”

Other developments going ahead in Maryborough were also exciting to see, Mr Sanderson said.

“With the recent announcement of Guzman y Gomez to establish a large restaurant near the Maryborough CBD, and new projects underway across the city with new jobs being created, Maryborough and the wider Fraser Coast’s future is going from strength to strength,” he said.

“With longstanding hotels in the city undergoing major renovations, including a small new craft brewery in one, and new businesses about to open in the heart of the Maryborough CBD, confidence is definitely growing with much more positive changes to come.

“These next couple of years for our city and wider region will be the best years our city has experienced in a very long time.”
