Bus tyre mishap sees two men flown to hospital from Fraser

TWO men pinned under a Fraser Island tourist bus have been airlifted to hospital by the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter.
The bus was being driven along the beach, north of the Maheno wreck, when it got a flat tyre about 3.30pm on Wednesday.
An AGL Action Rescue Helicopter spokeswoman said the driver and a passenger were changing the tyre when another passenger got back on the bus, causing it to shift off the jack.
The 49-year-old driver from Rainbow Beach had his hand crushed while the 29-year-old UK tourist assisting him suffered lacerations to his left arm.
Both men were airlifted to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.
The lastest incident follows a tour bus catching on fire and being burnt out near the Maheno shipwreck on October 23.
The driver evacuated all passengers safely after he saw smoke coming from the engine.
