ONE dingo from the pack that attacked numerous tourists on Fraser Island in recent weeks has been put down but the identity of other dogs involved remains unknown.
Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service Great Sandy regional manager Ross Belcher said the animal had been located and "humanely destroyed".
"The animal had also been identified as a member of the pack which was involved in a dangerous attack on a person," Mr Belcher said.
"The remaining dingoes involved in that attack were not individually identified."
Mr Belcher said since the last attack a number of minor incidents had been recorded from the One Tree Rocks/Cornwells area but there had been no reports of dangerous behaviour.
He said rangers had ear tagged three sub-adult dingoes at the K'Gari campsite where the incidents happened and would continue monitoring dingo and visitor behaviour.
The recent attacks and increased activity prompted the Department of Environment and Resource Management to issue a warning to visitors ahead of Easter.
"Campers, day visitors and residents should be aware of and follow the Be Dingo-safe recommendations," Mr Belcher said.
"Adults should stay close to children including young teenagers, walk in groups, never feed dingoes, lock up food stores and iceboxes, and pack away food scraps and store fishing bait correctly.
"Children should be supervised at all times and never be allowed to walk alone. Families with children are strongly urged to camp in fenced campgrounds at Central Station, Dundubara, Lake Boomanjin, Dilli Village, and Waddy Point," Mr Belcher said.
Mating season has been blamed for increased dingo aggression.
Mr Belcher said in this period wild dogs tested dominance, protected territories and expelled intruders from other packs.
