FRASER Island is one of the world's most desired locations, always a must for international travellers visiting Australian shores; the awards it wins and the guests it hosts confirm that.
Then why was it snubbed in Tourism Australia's latest promotional campaign?
The 90-second television advertisement features holiday destinations from across the nation, supposedly showcasing our sunburnt country's best offerings.
Tourism Australia plans to push the promotion with every effort in 20 countries, and as such, have cast the commercial in 17 different languages.
In total, three Queensland destinations - Surfers Paradise, Hayman Island and Lizard Island - were selected in the advertisement, which was launched in China last week.
Tourism Australia spokesman Leo Seaton said a 90-second promotion limited the number of destinations that could be advertised.
"It's obviously not possible to feature every single attraction in a short broadcast ad, and this means a great number of attractions - such as Fraser Island - miss out," Mr Seaton said.
Fraser Island was recently named one of the world's best, when National Geographic listed it as one of the 10 best beaches on the planet.
