An accused carjacker, whose alleged crime spree peaked with a gunpoint robbery, has fronted court after he was arrested outside a suburban shopping centre.

Clay Kenneth Gordon Nash is facing 28 charges, including armed robbery, deprivation of liberty and three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Represented by Travis George, the court heard he would not make an application for bail when he appeared before Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning.

He was remanded in custody until his next appearance on October 7.

The 28-year-old was allegedly driving a stolen car in the Hervey Bay suburb of Eli Waters on Friday evening when he was stopped by police, ending a two-week search.

It will be alleged Mr Nash crashed another stolen car on Sunday, August 8 before threatening one driver with a gun on Oleander Ave and later forcing another to drive away from the scene in a black Holden Astra.

That car was later found dumped at Craignish and police had been searching for the man responsible since.

Mr Nash made a brief appearance via videolink in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Monday in which he was shirtless and appeared agitated.

He indicated he wished to seek legal advice before making a bail application and the matter was adjourned until Tuesday.

His friend, Hayden Lee Henderson, also faced court on Monday.

He was allegedly in the car with Mr Nash when it was stopped by police on Friday and is facing multiple charges, including unlawful use of a vehicle.

Mr Henderson was denied bail and his case was adjourned until August 26.
