The glitz and glamour were on full display across the Fraser Coast on Tuesday as crowds turned out in force to celebrate the Melbourne Cup.
Dressed to the nines with an array of hats and fascinators, the ladies were having a ball while enjoying the atmosphere, while the men also dressed up for the occasion.
Events were held across the region to celebrate the big race, including at the Carriers Arms Hotel in Maryborough, the Kondari Hotel and Bayswater Hotel in Urangan and the Beach House Hotel.
Hervey Bay restaurant The Bear was also a popular spot to watch the event.
Thousands enjoyed lunch and a glass of wine or two before stopping to watch the race that stops the nation.
