Three children and a man have been taken to hospital after a house fire south of Brisbane.

The fire broke out in a house at Pacific Pines about 10.30am.

Emergency services are on the scene.

A man in his 30s is being treated for smoke inhalation.

Three children have been taken to hospital as a precaution.

The fire was at a house in Mellum Circuit at Pacific Pines.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said the fire was contained to an appliance and did not spread to the rest of the house.

Four people inside were believed to have been taken to hospital as a precaution.

The equipment was removed from the house when firefighters arrived.

The blaze has been extinguished.
