A STIRRING video of a handful of strangers offering to help a child lost in a busy Brisbane mall has shone a spotlight on the deficit of foster carers in Australia.
Children’s services provider Key Assets Australia filmed a boy and a girl standing alone in Queen Street Mall to see if people would care.
In eight hours, only 21 people stopped to ask the children where their mummy and daddy were.
The social experiment aimed to highlight the more than 43,000 children in need of the care and protection of a foster carer.
