Foster care in Queensland at a critical shortfall as Key Assets Australia video highlights the plight of vulnerable young children

VIDEO: Two young children stand alone in the middle of Brisbane’s busiest shopping mall. In eight hours, only 21 people stopped to offer help. This is the plight of some of the state’s most vulnerable.

Social Experiment Shows Few People Stop to Help Lost Children

A STIRRING video of a handful of strangers offering to help a child lost in a busy Brisbane mall has shone a spotlight on the deficit of foster carers in Australia.

Children’s services provider Key Assets Australia filmed a boy and a girl standing alone in Queen Street Mall to see if people would care.

In eight hours, only 21 people stopped to ask the children where their mummy and daddy were.

The social experiment aimed to highlight the more than 43,000 children in need of the care and protection of a foster carer.
