A FORMER senior Ipswich City Council officer has appeared in a Brisbane court on a second charge of misconduct in public office.

The Crime and Corruption Commission has charged former chief operating officer of works, parks and recreation Craig Kelvin Maudsley.

Maudsley was charged, as a public officer, with doing an act or making an omission in abuse of authority of office, between January 1, 2016, and January 25, 2017.

The charge alleges that with the intention to dishonestly gain a benefit for Wayne Francis Innes, he did an act, to procure services to remove sediment at Colleges Crossing.

The first charge against Maudsley alleges he used his influence to benefit a council contractor, to the detriment of a business, between September and November, 2016.

Maudsley was remanded on bail in Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Wayne Innes was charged by the Crime and Corruption in September last year with corruption, fraud and pretending to be someone else.

One charge alleges Innes gained a benefit from then works, parks and recreation chief operating officer, Craig Maudsley, by causing financial detriment to another business.

Innes also allegedly pretended to be a fictitious man named Brian Callaghan and allegedly attempted to dishonestly gain an amount of money for himself.

Innes also was charged with official corruption in relation to a sum of money received by council chief executive James Michael Lindsay, who was also charged by the CCC.
