A young child has been hospitalised with abdominal and facial injuries after they were hit by a car outside a Queensland state school on Tuesday. It comes after a man was left fighting for life after a vehicle and bike collided in Logan.

The collision involving a child happened about 3pm outside Darling Heights State School in Toowoomba.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics transported the injured child to the Toowoomba Hospital.

A parent who contacted the Toowoomba Chronicle said the child was crossing the road with a group of friends when the car turned into Wuth St and stuck the child.

Also in the state’s south, a person was left fighting for life after a vehicle and bike collided in Logan.

Queensland Ambulance Service said a man, aged in his 20s, was taken to the PA Hospital in a critical condition with serious leg and chest injuries after a vehicle and bike crash in Mount Warren Park, Logan.

They received the callout to Martens St just before 4pm.

In a separate incident, a woman was fighting for life after a collision between a car and truck at a busy bayside intersection southeast of Brisbane, where police were warning of three-hour delays.

The crash happened just after 3.45pm.

Emergency services are this afternoon also attending a single-car rollover north of Brisbane where a man is trapped in the vehicle.

Paramedics and firefighters were called to the scene at around 4.15pm on Neurum Road at Glenfern in the Somerset region.

Four Queensland Fire and Emergency Service crews were on scene and free’d the man.

He was flown to Hospital in a Rescue 500 Helicopter in a stable condition.

In a separate crash, the Leichhardt Highway was blocked this afternoon after a truck rolled southwest of Rockhampton.

Police were called to the crash at Kokotungo about 3pm.

The driver of the truck, which was carrying food, escaped without serious injury.

The highway is blocked in both directions with motorists asked to avoid the area.
