Fire crews are working to maintain a blaze at a block of shops on the regional Queensland and New South Wales border.
A Queensland Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said crews were called to a “well involved” fire at a block of shops in Mungindi, west of Goondiwindi, just after 8pm.
She said urban appliance and rural crews were working with New South Wales fire crews to battle the large blaze.
It is believed that some of the main shops in the small town caught alight, including a butcher shop, a clothing store and a grocery shop.
