An 87-year-old woman has died in hospital after being hit by a car on the Gold Coast.

An 87-year-old woman has died after being hit by a car on the Gold Coast on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident happened as she was crossing Grice Ave at Paradise Point about 4.15pm.
The woman was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital but she died later in the evening.
The driver of the car was not physically injured.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

The tragedy followed an earlier crash earlier on Wednesday in which an elderly driver reversed over a kerb near a Southport library, across the footpath and into an outdoor area, injuring a girl, 4, and man, 39.
Both were in a stable condition.
