The occupants of a residential building in East Brisbane have been evacuated after a fire in one of the units.
Emergency services were called to the building on Fisher St about 5.50am.
A QFES spokesman said they received an initial call about smoke issuing from a bedroom on the ground floor of the building.
The fire, which came from a mattress that had caught alight, was contained and put out by 6.30am.
One patient was rescued from the building and taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with smoke inhalation.
