KINGMAKER Bob Katter plans to hold a gun to the head of the Turnbull Government to deliver a $4 billion swag of “big-picture” projects for Queensland.

The Kennedy MP is again one of the nation’s most powerful politicians in a hung federal parliament after the LNP’s John Alexander fell victim to the citizenship fiasco.

Mr Katter exclusively told The Sunday Mail his guarantee of supply and confidence to Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull comes with a list of demands.

“We’ve got the tiger by the tail here,” the 72-year-old gun advocate said.

“It is time to stop the financial rape of North Queensland.

“We need to think big picture and start work on “nation-building” projects.’’

The Maverick MP now holds the balance of power with four others on the crossbench and has drafted a list of priority infrastructure demands.

“We’ve got the government in our sights,” he said.

“If they try to play some sneaky games they will be dicing with death.”

His list includes a $2.2 billion “Australian owned and run” railway line into the Galilee Basin coalfields; the $800m Hell’s Gate Dam and power project near Townsville; and the $700m new Tully-Millstream hydro scheme.

He also plans to push for a Royal Commission into Banks, mandated ethanol use, native title deeds, lower electricity prices and a crackdown on the 457 skilled migrant visa.

The 40-year veteran, who held the balance of power after the 2010 election, said he’d never seen a voting public so disconnected with politics.

“This whole year in Canberra seems to have been about same-sex marriage and whether politicians are Australian or not,’’ he said.

“I can’t believe the feeling out there, the major parties are like a pack of starving mongrel dogs, nobody wants to go anywhere near them.

“What the punters want is the talk to stop and for us to actually do something.”
