A 33-year-old truck driver has died after his vehicle hit a tree and rolled down an embankment in the Gold Coast hinterland on Monday morning.

A truck driver has died after his vehicle collided with a tree and rolled down and embankment in the Gold Coast hinterland on Monday morning.
Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Waterford Tamborine Rd and Greensward Rd, Tamborine, about 5.30am.
The 33-year-old driver from Flagstone was “heavily trapped” inside the truck with critical injuries according to a Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman.
He died at the scene.
Police said early investigations suggested the prime mover veered off the road and collided with a tree before rolling down an embankment.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating and anyone with information or dashcam vision is urged to contact police.
