Energex have responded to reports of people allegedly claiming to be from the company in a bid to sign up Redlands residents for solar installations.
In a statement posted to Facebook Energex said they do not sell solar or any other retail products and they do not know who the doorknockers are.
“They’re certainly not from Energex.” The statement read.
An Energex spokesman said the company was asking people to be aware of individuals coming to residents’ doors claiming to be from Energex.
“We’re not saying that these people are dodgy … if anyone does come to the door, claiming to be from Energex, they will be in Energex uniform and they will also be able to provide Energex identification.
“If you think that someone is dodgy or if you think that someone who claims to be from Energex and there’s good suspicion that they’re not, just close to the door or hang up the phone.” he said.

“Sounds like the ones who were in Moreton Bay area before Christmas,” Libby Troy added.
Brenda Evans also said they looked like the same people who were on the Gold Coast before Christmas.
