Queensland may have recorded no new cases of coronavirus this morning, but fears of a looming lockdown remain just two weeks before school holidays.
Concerns crept into the community after two truck drivers tested positive and a family of five recently returned from Victoria and attended school without completing quarantine.
Meanwhile, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has been accused of scaremongering, misrepresenting Covid deaths through a single graph modelling worst-case body-count scenarios despite vaccinations.
On Friday morning, Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young warned the state “Covid will come into Queensland, of course it will.”
Combined, the events of recent days have many Queenslanders predicting a snap lockdown at a most inconvenient time – school holidays.

The Premier declares there could be 2240 Covid deaths a month...( that’s 116, 480 per year) even at 70% population vaccination rate if the Australian borders are opened. Australia, in the last 17 months, has thus far had 1,019 deaths attributed to Covid, with the very vast majority PRIOR to the vaccine rollout. So according to the premier, Australia will have more deaths amongst the vaccinated in one month than we have had thus far. No wonder I no longer view the Premier and her CMO as a credible source of information.

Dictator Anna at it again, did I hear “lockdown” because of ignorant people

She seems to think that she will keep Qld Covid free forever. I’ve got news for you Anna. It’s coming and you can’t stop it. What a scary scenario, living under this incompetent leader while Covid is spreading through the community.

Wants to share the info with the public, can you believe the gall of this statement. We are still waiting for the health advice for the last 18 months! The spin is so far out of control she is now making foot in mouth blunders daily. Should we ask, are u ok? For a leader, Premier of this State, the incoherent, shambolic scare tactics are frightening for the future well being of Qlders

Here we go – Another hard lockdown just in time for School holidays.

A refusal to be tested, and no authority to enforce testing, simply shows Queensland’s incompetence at managing the pandemic. It is a wonder AP has not put the whole state into lockdown again.

Anna is looking for an excuse to lock down over school holidays again so all the public servants can work from home and look after the kids.

Did somebody say LOCKDOWN

Anastasia won on Covid, is running everything she does on Covid because she has no other policy than Covid. She won her first and second term on not being Campbell Newman and her third on Covid. Queensland are in a lot of trouble for the short sightedness we have had.

One experience from all of this is that pandemics should be controlled by the Federal Government. Furthermore, if Australia is to recover post Covid to become a vibrant, growth economy, there must be a national plan and if it means serious revision of our Constitution and state powers, so be it.

Two sides in all of this Covid crisis, those who follow all the rules, wear masks, disinfect hands, get vaccinated in the hope of one day get back to a normal life they once had and those who what to use the Covid crisis for political power and control.

The scare mongers in the Queensland Government are causing people and the State’s economy irreparable harm. They have to stand aside and let more rational thinkers fix the situation.
