A crash in the northbound lanes of the M1 at Coomera is set to cause traffic pain heading into peak-hour.

The crash has occurred on the Coomera River bridge and by 6.40am, the crash had caused delays back to Molendinar, adding at least 50 minutes to northbound commutes, as well as 20 minute delays for motorists attempting to join the M1 from the Smith Street Motorway.

The delays were sparked by a two-vehicle crash on the northbound section of the Coomera Bridge, which left one man in the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition, while another person involved declined to be taken to hospital.

More to come.
