Young, accomplished and ready for the future

After 12 years of schooling, seniors from Our Lady of the Southern Cross College were educated and bright-eyed.

FAMILY and friends joined the senior class of Our Lady of the Southern Cross College for their 2018 graduation mass in St Joseph's Catholic Church.

The ceremony took place on Friday morning and saw all 39 Year 12 students awarded their Queensland Certificate of Education.

School principal Peter Cuskelly said the cohort of graduating students was a pleasure to work with.

"I will miss their quirky ways,” Mr Cuskelly said in his address. "We wish them all very safe celebrations and all the best for the future.”

During the mass, the school captains, Laura Cook and Lachlan Malone, addressed their cohort and the audience.

"It's hard to believe that Our Lady was once an unknown environment to us,” Laura Cook said. "Nevertheless, I know I speak for us all when I say that this school has become like a second home.”

"As we graduate today, we leave behind school life as we venture into adulthood. It's both scary and exciting,” Lachlan Malone said.

Graduating OLSCC student Eboni Frid advised other students to keep going.

"It might feel like the world is ending and that it's so hard,” she said. "But once you've graduated, you'll feel accomplished and like you can do anything.”
