Dalby
Don't miss out on the headlines from Dalby. Followed categories will be added to My News.
AS THE curve is starting to flatten, the State Government will ease restrictions from this weekend.
People will be allowed to take recreational drives as long as they don’t travel further than 50km from their principal place of residence.
Picnics and maritime activities are also now legal again, if they are only done with members of the same household or with one other individual.
Here is a list of some things you can do within 50km of Dalby:
Go shopping
People will now be allowed to shop for non-essential items like clothes as of today.
Stores in Dalby Shoppingworld have flung open their doors amid the news.
Have a picnic
Although the services and playgrounds might be closed, Dalby’s parks are still open to the community.
Thomas Jack Park’s open atmosphere is a great place to set up a picnic with yourself and one other person.
Warra’s Richard Best Memorial Park is also another location for those willing to travel out of town.
Picnickers must abide by social distancing rules and must not have any more than one person outside of their principal place of residence.
Myall Creek
Restrictions on boating have also been lifted.
Go for a fish or take a canoe down Myall Creek.
Visit Lake Broadwater
Lake Broadwater is still accessible to the public despite the coronavirus restrictions.
Camping is currently suspended and facilities like barbecues, fire areas and toilets are currently off-limits.
The Darling Downs’ only natural large lake is still worth a visit during this time.
Lake Broadwater is located 30km southwest of Dalby and can be found by taking the Broadwater Road turn-off from the Moonie Highway.
