A Western Downs man who police allege was involved in an assault that caused bodily harm earlier this year is expected to change his plea for a second time.

Steven Ronald Mac Nellie, who has not yet had to appear in court in person, will now be pleading guilty to one count of assault occasioning bodily harm.

Defence lawyer Michael Bond told Dalby Magistrates Court on September 26 that his client has “reconsidered” his plea after they had received the full brief of evidence.

At the first mention of the charge on July 28 Mr Bond said Mr Mac Nellie was originally going to enter a plea of guilty but would now be taking a different course of action.

Acting magistrate Michael Bice enlarged Mr Mac Nellie’s bail and ordered the matter be adjourned to October 31 for sentence in Dalby Magistrates Court.
