A Dalby man has pleaded guilty to a whopping 18 charges following a terrifying incident in July last year where he smashed his partner’s car window and pushed her over, injuring her back.

Tyler Owen Caldwell, 21, faced court on Tuesday where he pleaded guilty to a slew of charges including a DV breach, wilful damage, drink driving and eight breaches of bail.

The court was told Caldwell and the aggrieved had separated after a three and a half year relationship but were living at the same house.

On July 12, 2024 about 9.45pm Caldwell got into an argument at their home where he smashed the window of the aggrieved’s car and pushed her inside the house.

When inside the aggrieved attempted to get past Caldwell but he shoved her onto a bed, causing her to injure her back which she had previously hurt.

He then got in his car speeding out of the driveway and knocking off the victim’s car side mirror.

Sometime later police intercepted Caldwell in his vehicle and subjected him to a breath test where he returned a reading of 0.115, he also failed to produce a driver's licence and was found to be driving while demerit point suspended.

The court was told when police attempted to talk to Caldwell about the DV breach he was less than forthcoming with police having to “pry the information out of him”.

He also attempted to downplay pushing his partner over saying he was just trying to get past.

While on bail for the charges Caldwell recorded eight breaches.

For his offences Caldwell was sentenced to a 12 month, $1000 good behaviour bond and a two year, nine month loss of licence.

No conviction was recorded.
