A MAN has been given a stern warning from a Dalby magistrate for possessing a small quantity of marijuana.
In the Dalby Magistrates Court, Duane Bruce Dykes pleaded guilty to possession of a ‘dangerous drug’.
He was driving when he was stopped by police for a random breath test at 1pm on April 29.
Police prosecutor Jodie Tahana said Dykes’ car was searched and 0.1g of green leaf material was found.
Dykes told the court that it was marijuana and he had been smoking it.
Magistrate Tracy Mossop said marijuana was illegal in Queensland.
“It’s unfortunate for you that you’ve been found with cannabis,” she said.
“Cannabis can cause mental health issues.”
Dykes was given a good behaviour order for a period of four months and no conviction was recorded.
