An intoxicated man who visited the Dalby police station during early hours of the morning and allegedly caused a scene before demanding to be locked up got just what he was asking for.

Police will alleged the man arrived at the Dalby police station at 2am Wednesday and refused to leave when asked by officers, instead telling them to arrest him.

A QPS spokesman said the man threatened to cause a scene before he started to kick and hit the glass doors at the front of the station.

The 40-year-old was arrested and charged with public nuisance and wilful damage.

He is due to face Dalby Magistrates Court later this month.
