DETECTIVES believe offenders used a high-powered Commodore or Ford and a shotgun for two drive-by shootings in Tara at the weekend.
Dalby Detective Sergeant Col Harvey said investigators had an idea of the offenders' identity, but were yet to nail down a firm suspect.
"We think the shootings could be related to other recent incidents in the area," he said.
"The shootings appear to be targeted at a particular family."
Tara police ramped up their presence following the shootings with extra units called in from across the region to reassure the community.
Sgt Harvey asked the public to come forward with information that would help the investigation.
"We are looking for information about any vehicle travelling in the Day St and Naughtin St areas between 9.45-10.45pm, Saturday night, in particular any Fords or Commodores," Sgt Harvey said.
Just before 10pm, a single shot was fired into a window of a house on Day St.
Three people were in the house and suffered minor injuries from shattered glass.
It is believed the vehicle sped off towards Surat Developmental Rd.
The second shooting happened about an hour later.
Two shots were fired at a house on Naughtin St.
No one was home at the time.
A car was seen driving away, along Binnie St, heading west.
