A man who police allege murdered a Western Downs man and injured two others has had his matters revisited in court.

Police allege that on May 30 this year, Clinton Gordon Sutcliffe “deliberately rammed” his Nissan X-Trail into a car travelling on a highway in Kogan, that had three occupants including 22-year-old Dale McKenna, which caused the car to roll.

Mr McKenna was flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital and was submitted to intensive care for 24 hours before his life support was turned off.

Defence lawyer Claire Graham appeared in Dalby Magistrates Court on December 12 on behalf of McConnell and Saldumbide Law who represent Mr Sutcliffe.

She instructed a full brief of evidence had been provided by Queensland Police, and said the 36-year-old’s legal team would be visiting the man in prison next week to seek further instructions on his case.

The court was told it would be likely an application would be made to cross-examine witnesses.

Mr Sutcliffe has been charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder, one count each of possessing explosives, shortened firearms, restricted items, stealing a firearm or ammunition, unlawful possession of weapons and 25 charges relating to phone calls he allegedly made.

Acting magistrate Andrew Walker ordered the man be remanded in custody and adjourned the matter to January 30 in Dalby Magistrates Court.
