Solicitors Michael and Michelle Bond will step away from intense legal battles this weekend to tackle their personal hell.
The Dalby couple and their children, Jack and Lily, will take on the Goondiwindi Hell of the West triathlon.
The triathlon comprises a 2km swim, 80km cycle and a 20km run.
Competitors not only have to brave the exhausting race, but will be battling the 37-degree heat forecast this weekend for Goondiwindi.
For the Bond family, competing in the region's toughest triathlon sounds like the perfect way to spend some time together.
Michael said he and his wife didn't normally compete against each other, rather they chose to support each other throughout the tough event.
"If she beats me that's good and if I beat her, well, that's good,” Michael said.
Michelle got involved with the triathlon because Michael participated and this will be her second time participating in the individual triathlon.
She said Michael had a hand in her training leading up to the event.
"We help each other,” Michelle said.
"It's really good, we push each other so there's no competition at all.”
Lily, 10, and Jack, 12, on the other hand are looking forward to a little bit of healthy rivalry as they compete in the Hell of the West junior triathlon.
This is Michael's ninth year competing.
He said he was most excited to just be able to finish the event.
As for the post-triathlon celebrations, the family won't be doing anything too extravagant.
A coffee and a sandwich will be the perfect way for them to wind down after an exhausting weekend.
