A man in his 20s found himself in hospital last night after falling from a bull during a rodeo.

The Dalby Show kicked off at 4pm yesterday, but at 6.10pm the bull riding part of the rodeo took a turn for the worse when a bull rider was knocked unconscious after falling from his bull.

President of the Dalby Show society Darryl Byrne said the bull rider recovered consciousness by the time he left the showground and they took him to hospital as a precaution.

“That’s our policy with anybody who suffers an injury of that type,” Mr Byrne said.

The bull rider was taken to Dalby in a stable condition and with a head injury.

Mr Byrne said despite the incident the show was “very successful”.
