DALBY had a very special visitor on Thursday, with the Easter Bunny hopping into town to give out chocolate at Dalby Shoppingworld.

Although the bunny could only stay for two hours due to a tight schedule all over the world, children and adults streamed into the centre to catch a glimpse.

Jayde Meacle was there with her family, and said the event is always special.

"It's all about getting into the Easter spirit and keeping the tradition going,” Ms Meacle said.

"We all come down every year to see the bunny with the whole family.

"It's one of the children's favourite things to do because they get free chocolate.”

The Easter Bunny exclusively told the Dalby Herald that the visit also had an ulterior motive, and that was making sure all of the towns children were on their best behaviour in the lead up to Saturday night.

"I've been very impressed with all of the little ones in Dalby, they've all been very welcoming and kind,” the Easter Bunny said.

"I'm going to have to deliver more chocolate on Saturday night than I thought.”

In fact, the Easter Bunny believes we have some of the nicest children anywhere in the world right here in little old Dalby.

"I've just visited children in London, Paris, Madrid and New York, but the children here have much better manners.”

After the quick stop at Shoppingworld, the Easter Bunny did a whirlwind trip around town to work out which route would be most efficient for Saturday night.
