Police investigations are still ongoing after a fire and a number of attempted break-ins of Dalby businesses.

Fire crews responded to a blaze at Graham Henderson and Co Stock and Station agents on Drayton St in Dalby, in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Dalby police Senior Constable Trent Parsons said the incident was being treated as suspicious, with signs of forced entry found on the rear door of the property.

Senior Constable Parsons said police also received reports of attempted break-ins on the same night at neighbouring businesses, Total Care Vets and Pets and Western Downs Dental and Implants.

Neither businesses have reported property stolen or forced entry, but some damage to the rear door of the vets was reported.

Senior Constable Parsons said police were anticipating a report from fire investigators as to the cause of the fire in the next day.

A Dalby resident said she thought incidents like this were becoming more prevalent in town.

“It’s just the way Dalby is going,” she said.

“You’re on edge … you kind of feel unsafe.”

Police are appealing to the public for information and any CCTV footage which may help with investigations.

Original Story

Emergency services crews had an early start after they were called to a single-story structure fire on Drayton St in Dalby just after 5am.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said four crews arrived on scene and worked quickly to have the fire under control by 5.30am Tuesday.

Paramedics were also called to the scene, but no one was injured.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said officers had established a crime scene at the private business.

Police have since confirmed they believe the fire was deliberately lit, after investigators found evidence there had been forced entry into the building.

Forensic examinations were completed by both police and fire investigators, with the results still to be determined.

A QPS spokesman said the investigation is ongoing and police urge anyone in the area at the time to come forward with any information.

QFES fire investigators will work with police to determine the cause of the fire.
