CANCER Council volunteers hit the streets of Dalby on Saturday September 14 to raise funds.

The team wheeled an old-fashioned hospital bed around for the Bed Push event.

Secretary/treasurer of the Dalby Cancer Council Dalby branch Meg Doyle said they were able to raise $1000.95.

"We were blown away,” she said.

"Times are very tough at the moment but Dalby has been supportive once again.”

Sam Crenerry was one of the volunteers at the Bed Push.

"The town is absolutely wonderful when we do the bed push,” Mr Crenerry said.

Funds raised from the bed push will go towards Olive McMahon Lodge in Toowoomba and to finding a cure for cancer.

The Bed Push is one of many events the Dalby Cancer Council volunteers are involved in throughout the year.

Upcoming events include the Pink and Perky High Tea at Urban Paddock on October 20 and, of course, the Relay for Life on October 12.

To secure your spot at the high tea, contact Urban Paddock on 46622628.
