NEW locals who have migrated to Dalby from overseas don't have to worry about not feeling at home in the town.

The Dalby Welcoming Community Committee have secured two grants - one to host a country concert at the Delicious and Delightful Festival, and the other to reach out to the region's new migrants to ease their transition into country life.

Beth Wood from Dalby Welcoming Community Inc lodged the applications in the hope of being able to include some vital members of the community in the celebrations.

"Delicious and Delightful is essentially a multicultural festival,” Ms Wood said.

"We encourage and work with as many of the multicultural people as possible in Dalby.”

Member for Maranoa David Littleproud told the Dalby Herald how important it was to include new groups in the community, especially in light of the upcoming events.

"These are important grants in allowing communities like Dalby to showcase what's great about Dalby,” Mr Littleproud said.

"It'll not only bring the locals out to a festival, it also brings people in the community to let them understand how we live out here with the unique lifestyle we have and the superior lifestyle we have.”
