A CENT sale attracted about 100 people to the Jondaryan Woolshed last weekend, raising approximately $2000.
The money will fund projects to upgrade the grounds at the Darling Downs Museum Complex.
The woolshed, which is 160 years old this year, is set to receive upgrades following the sale, including improvements to its animal nursery, installation of shading, new picnic tables, and upgrades to its watering system.
New gardens will also be created on the grounds, growing native plants to attract wildlife.
Jondaryan Woolshed general manager Rebecca Pope said members of the public braved the hot conditions to support the woolshed.
"We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated goods and gift vouchers. We were blown away by the support," Ms Pope said.
"We have already started upgrades to our animal nursery.
"As caretakers of Australia's oldest working woolshed and one of the region's historical museums, we take our responsibility very seriously."
35 businesses in the Oakey, Jondaryn, Dalby and Toowoomba areas pitched in to support the cause.
