1. EMPLOYMENT BOOM: 14,000 jobs to be created by 22 projects

CLOSE to 14,000 jobs could be generated in the Darling Downs-Condamine region this year, pending the approval of a number of large-scale renewable energy projects.

2. Surat Basin gas to flow to government-owned generator

GAS from the Surat Basin will flow to Queensland Government-owned power generator CleanCo Queensland under a new agreement announced yesterday.

Under the one-year agreement, Senex will supply CleanCo with 2.55 PJ of natural gas from Project Atlas near Wandoan, starting on January 1, 2021.

IN A bid to intimidate a witness in a legal proceeding against his friend, Michael John Urch took to Facebook to intimidate the complainant, and “give him a hard time”.

9. Police to increase patrols around restaurants, cafes

POLICE will be deploying extra personnel and increasing patrols around Dalby as restrictions ease at 11.59pm tonight, with a focus on cafes, pubs, and restaurants.

Dalby police officer-in-charge senior sergeant Terry McCullough told the Herald now it was more important than ever for people to follow social distancing rules.

10. CCTV CALLOUT: Police appeal for businesses and residents with surveillance

DALBY police are creating a list of businesses and home addresses who have CCTV cameras attached to their properties in order to streamline the process of investigating crimes in the region.

Police liaison officer Jenny Thomas has asked anyone with CCTV cameras to get in touch with police so they may compile a list of addresses with cameras.
