Building destroyed by fire in Tara

A building in a small regional town all too familiar with devastating fires has been destroyed by flames.

A building in Tara was destroyed by fire on Friday afternoon.

A building has been completely destroyed after a fire ravaged a property in Tara on Friday afternoon.

Emergency services were called the property on Billabong Lane, with reports of a house fire at 4.14pm.

Paramedics were first to arrive at the scene.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said that while all the building’s occupants escaped from the blaze unscathed, the building was completely engulfed in flames.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said the single-story dwelling was completely engulfed in flames and “basically destroyed”.

The spokesman said while the fire in under control, it was not extinguished as at 5.30pm.
