THE BRYMAROO Rodeo is back this weekend, with the traditional Easter event ready to entertain families and thrill seekers alike.

Cathy Wood is on the committee for the rodeo, and said that everyone involved have been working hard to make sure the show goes off without a hitch.

"Preparations are looking very good, we've had a good amount of nominations and our sponsors have been very supportive,” Mrs Wood said.

"The committee has been busy preparing the ground, so now we just are hoping the weather stays fine and it plays its part.

"We've been preparing for the event since before Christmas, a lot of work goes into it behind the scenes.”

The rodeo attracts cowboys and cowgirls from all over, as local groups also converge to showcase their wares.

"Riders come from far and wide, and the way we've timed it a few of them go and compete in Roma the next day.

"Seeing the community benefit from the event, it's very community minded and it's great to see everyone working together.

"Quinalow and Bowenville schools will both be there, as well as the cricket association amongst others.”

The event is a 'full rodeo', meaning all of the bucking stock events will be there, along with timed eventing which includes steer wrestling and team roping.

A big screen will be on site to ensure you don't miss a second of the thrills and spills, with live entertainment also until keeping the crowd in full swing until 1.00am.

Mrs Wood said the night out is one for people of all ages, and encouraged all first timers to come and check it out.

"Put all perceptions aside, come and see the skills that the riders and competitors use.

"Experience the atmosphere of watching competitors who are good at what they do; they make riding a bull look so easy.

"One of the best things is seeing people going away happy with what they've seen; that's why we do it.”

The youngsters get the first chance to shine with a junior rodeo being hosted on Friday from 1.00pm.

On Saturday the rodeo gets underway with pre performance events at 1.00pm before the main action begins at 4.00pm.

The event is being held at the Brymaroo Rodeo grounds, for more information visit the Brymaroo Rodeo & Campdraft Facebook page.
