Bowenville Crash: Police confirm two dead after Warrego Hwy accident

Tragically police have confirmed two drivers have died after a truck and car slammed into each other on the Warrego Hwy near Dalby, shutting the major road for hours. Here’s the latest:

Tragedy has struck on the Western Downs, with two people now confirmed dead following a horror crash on the Warrego Hwy.

Police confirmed the two drivers lost their lives following a crash on the Warrego Highway at Bowenville yesterday morning, January 30.

Initial investigations indicate around 8:30am, a Holden Astra and a Kenworth semi-trailer collided with each other near Oakleigh Park Road.

Then, as a result the collision, the truck left the road and crashed into a pole.

A 22-year-old Pialba woman, the driver of the car, and 45-year-old Nobby man, the driver of the truck, both died at the scene. They were the sole occupants of each vehicle.

The crash also brought down powerlines in the area, with Ergon Energy being called to the site.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have dashcam vision to come forward as investigations continue.
